ABOUT SAFE (FUNDED BY NCIL - Sip n Talk Project 2025-2026) ‘Safe’ is a play created for youth aged 10+ to educate children about the dangers of gang culture and knife crime.  Using forum theatre techniques, ‘Safe’ invites the audience to suggest how the lead Jacob could have made different choices and changed his fate.  Individuals are invited to actively participate in the story. A hard-hitting, original drama written by young people, under the guidance of professional mentors. Featuring young performers, SAFE challenges expectations about London’s youths, offers hope for the future, and conveys a positive message about staying safe in an increasingly dangerous society, while exploring gang culture and knife crime from a young perspective. Some themes explored in ‘SAFE’ relevant to the National Curriculum include Anti-violence, Diversity Education and Critical Thinking.
