This thoughtful approach is use to:

  • Raise awareness about violence in the community.

  • Provide a visible symbol of support and remembrance.

  • Connect with both young people (through schools) and the broader community.

  • Promote emotional well-being and healing

Having started in 2014 and continuing today with meaningful color symbolism (Yellow for sunrise and sunset, white for divinity and angels amongst us and green was added in the year 2024 for hope and prosperity).

An important part of our community's response to violence and trauma. This meaningful symbol is worn by parents and others in the community. The fact that parents wear our daisy pins suggest that they serve as:

  • A way for families to show solidarity

  • A visual symbol of support between those affected by violence

  • A connection point between different members of the community

This project have succeeded in:

  • Creating a recognisable symbol of support

  • Connecting different groups (schools, parents, community members)

  • Maintaining its significance since 2014

Artwork (postcards) signed and designed by James Ross Hunter (Sunrise December 21 1995-  Sunset May 31 2014) James' life was cut short as a peacemaker on Wells Park Road, Sydenham London on May 31st 2014 saving another.  Proceeds from sales will go towards free ongoing emotional wellbeing sessions in schools and the local community.
